About Aisha

Aisha developed her love of yoga in college while running track at the University of Houston. After college she continued to attend classes around her home town in New Jersey and in Houston. In 2022 Aisha was told she had breast cancer and would need to undergo chemotherapy treatment and a double mastectomy. Aisha develop a deeper practice after treatment and decided to enroll in yoga teacher training. Her instructors, Janet and Suzi from Lightbox Yoga in New Jersey, allowed Aisha to find her voice and encouraged her to share her gift with others.

Aisha is an educator at heart and works to facilitate positive learning environments for special education students. Along her teaching journey Aisha received a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and works closely with students and adults on the autism spectrum.

Aisha created Surviben’ with Wellness to cultivate a safe space for everyone to enjoy the benefits of yoga. Her goal is break the stigma that yoga is only for certain body types; only for those who live in certain neighborhoods; and only for those who can afford the most expensive clothes and accessories.

Yoga is for everyone! We all deserve to learn how to use mindful movements and breathing to calm our bodies and our clear our minds. I love that I can move my body and engage in meaningful breathing to provide my body what it needs at any given moment.
